The 18th Annual Moab Music Festival held their free concert outside at the Old City Park in Moab, Utah. The musicians from more populated areas of the United States, come every year for 10 days of music making. Samples from the daily concerts are featured. This year we heard some selections by a soprano who performs at the Metropolitan Opera, a jazz percussionist and pianist, a stand up bass player, a violinist, a violist and two other pianists. This shows the stage where the artists played.

Sunday was the last day ever for the Moab Swim Center, the public pool that has served Moab for decades. Starting this week, the popular swimming pool is being drained and demolished to make room for a new aquatics and recreation facility slated to open in the fall of 2010. Enjoying the pool on its final afternoon are Kestrel (top photo) and Betty. Betty worked at the pool this summer as a lifeguard.

Studies show that about half of the United States population attends church on Sunday at least once a month, but whether or not they attend church Sunday morning, many Americans enjoy the tradition of spending Sunday afternoon in the park. Sam recently took some photos at a park in Salt Lake City. In this photo, you can see someone practicing their golf swing.
This is the inaugural entry of a new category called “Sunday in the Park,” which will occasionally feature activities that people enjoy doing on Sunday afternoons in the park.
